Aliah University admissions 2010-2011
The University was established in the year 1781. It was founded in Baithakkhana near Sealdah, Calcutta but is currently located to the north of Wellesley Square (renamed Haji Md. Mohsin Square) in the Taltala area. The school taught Persian, Arabic and Muslim Law (Fiqh) and its graduates were hired as interpreters for the British Raj. The Calcutta Madrasah was established in the year 1780. Aliah University has started its glorious journey from this academic session (2008-09) with great potential and immense opportunities. Aliah University has with it the rich heritage of Madrasah-i-Aliah or Calcutta Madrasah.

Aliah University has a library reach in collection of literature in Islamic Theology, Islamic Jurisprudence & Law, and Arabic. The Library has a Large Collection of books. Aliah University has started its glorious journey from this academic session (2008-09) with great potential and immense opportunities. 

Hostel at the Aliah University
The Hostel at the Aliah University was erected in the year 1896. Students are admitted in the hostel strictly on merit basis and on production of documentary evidence of their permanent residence. The hostel is located 17, Haji Md. Mohsin Square, Kolkata-700016. Sixty percent of its berths are reserved for the accommodation of Aliah University.
