Semi-Natural Woodland

An 'ancient woodland site that has been managed over a period, resulting in some change in structure and species composition, and which consists of stands of mainly 'native trees that have not been obviously planted. On a recent woodland site, the term includes all stands that have origi¬nated mainly by natural regeneration.
