Ranchi University was established in 1960 Ranchi University has 23 post-graduate, departments, 33 constituent colleges, 24 affiliated colleges/institutions besides Academic Staff College and Adult Continuing education & Extension Department.It is headquartered in Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand. It had 10 postgraduate departments, one constituent college (Ranchi College, Ranchi) and 20 affiliated colleges having territorial jurisdiction over an area of 65,000 sq km.
