University of Jammu Admissions 

The University of Jammu was established in 1969 by an Act of the State Legislature which effectively bifurcated the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir University into the Universities of Kashmir and Jammu respectively. The University of Jammu, accredited as 'A' Grade University by National Assessment & Accreditation Council of India came into existence in 1969 vide Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969 following bifurcation of the erstwhile University of Jammu and Kashmir.


Facilities in University of Jammu
Health & Sports:-
The Yoga Centre was established in the University of Jammu on December 15, 1998 Vide University Order No. 98/II/642/526-31 dated 15-12-1998 under 9th plan of UGC scheme.

Hostels 
The University houses two residential campuses. One residential facility are located in the New Campus and other residential facilities are in the old campus at Canal Road, Jammu.

Canteen 
University of Jammu has facilities of canteens, kiosks for photocopying, STD/ISD facilities. In the campus there is a bookshop, a bank and a post office. There are canteens for refreshment at suitable places. For guests there is a well-maintained Guest House within the campus.  

Central Library University of Jammu
The Central Library of the University is the hub of academic activities where students sit from morning evening everyday throughout, the year. Its four storey building has spacious reading halls and compact stack areas. The Library has a collection of nearly 3.5 lakh volumesre rareas well as latest, and 250 current periodicals with back numbers.

A Departmental Library may be defined as a subject collection in an academic institution, housed either in a separate room of the main Library or in some building outside the main Library and administered either as a part of a centralized Library system or as a part of the academic department it serves.
