Programme in Mariculture of the Cochin University of Science and Technology offered under the Postgraduate Programme in the Mariculture at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Post Box No. 2704, Cochin 682031.
The M.Sc. Programme in Mariculture is a two-year programme comprising of four semesters. It is designed to impart generalized and specialised knowledge necessary to pursue a career in the field of Mariculture (culture of fishes, shellfishes etc., in coastal waters). The programme is conducted in close collaboration with the Cochin University of Science and Technology.
Eligibility: B.Sc. degree in Zoology, Botany, Chemistry with Zoology or Botany as Subsidiary or Bio-Chemistry with Zoology or Botany subsidiary of any of the Universities in Kerala or B.F.Sc. of any Agricultural Universities or an examination of any other University of Science (10+2+3 pattern) accepted by the Syndicate of the Cochin University of Science and Technology as equivalent thereto.
The candidates should have obtained 55% marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examinations. SC/ ST candidates are eligible for a concession of 10% of marks. Age: 24 years as on 1st July. Age limit is relaxable by 5 years in the case of SC/ST candidates. Fellowships Rs. 1200 per month.
